Needs Assessment

A needs assessment process is customized to meet unique client and industry needs. Identifying client needs, checking them with project assumptions, and planning ensures accurate and relevant project work.

Instructional Design

Instructional design is the process of laying out the content, curriculum, or information that is identified as needed for a project. Instructional design is integrated with effective practices in adult learning and can be developed for delivery via a range of formats: face to face, on site, via training of trainers or instructors, via blended learning and through web based interactive tools. Assessment of learner outcomes can vary from informal to formal and may include self reflection, competency assessment and evaluation of knowledge and understanding.

Training Design & Professional Development

Training design is specific to client needs and aligned with industry standards. Design can range from informational content to highly specific subject matter with imbedded learning assessment. Determining the best match between client needs and learner outcomes generally drives the methodology.

Web based learning and instructional design

Highly accessible tools can be used to deliver specific content. Software design and client access to learning tools often drive decision making related to learning platform choices, learner portals and instructional design tools.

Blended learning

Blended Learning is used when clients identify a range of organizational learning styles and objectives. Blended learning refers to the design of a continuum of options to meet unique needs. An example might be having specific content available via a face to face training, via a self directed web learning management system, and/or via a process that begins face to face and ends with the learner accessing further tools via a computer. Blended learning can also be used during the transfer of learning or learning implementation process when the initial content can be delivered face to face or via web based tool.   Support for applying the learning can come through other learner strategies like on-site learning communities, web hosted chats and dialogues, or threaded discussion groups.

Comprehensive Educational Program Assessment and Design

Depending upon the scope of educational and professional development programs, clients need an organizing framework for educational program and instruction. Sometimes overlooked, this framework contains identified competencies, guides conceptual thinking and drives instructional design components. Assessing an educational framework reveals strengths and gaps and supports the identification of priorities. Learning tools and assessment processes are designed to align with the organizing framework creating a continuous feedback loop.

Onsite training

Onsite training is a tool designed to meet organizational training needs. Onsite training design and delivery is coordinated with the sponsoring client and designed to meet organizational priorities.

Train the trainer

Train the trainer is a capacity building strategy used to introduce new organizational training content. Training trainers or facilitators ensures that organizations have the internal capacity to meet ongoing professional development and education needs. Train the trainer processes can include the introduction of new content and the assessment and improvement of the trainer’s delivery of training content.
