Client wanted to create a state wide training initiative designed to increase the customer service skills of key regionally based staff. Client desired the initiative be competency driven and result in systemic change as well as the application of emerging customer service skills.

Planning the training initiative included a needs assessment process, the identification of best practices and competencies, and the design and training of implementation skills for regionally based staff.  Dion Consulting successfully worked with key state level administrators to assess needs, identify competencies and best practices, and discuss corporate vision and expectations related to customer service outcomes.

Seventy-eight key staff in two locations were trained in best practices. Through innovative training focused on adult learning, they applied their emerging skills using self evaluation and a combination of innovative instructional and data collection tools.

Our client had existing training for external customers. The client had in house subject matter experts but understood that to be more effective, their training might need the integration of current adult education theory and practical application for both the face to face and future web based learning.

Dion Consulting provided ongoing services to meet two objectives.

  1. To integrate current best practices of adult learning in both face to face and webs based training.
  2. To  mentor and coach staff in effective practices in adult education as they develop new national and local presentations and training. Dion Consulting provided client support to develop a portfolio of trainings designed to align with organizational priorities. Included in this training were face to face training, training and presentations for national conferences and events and web based training.

Another client wanted to expand their end user educational & training resources but had no organizational history in design or development.

Dion Consulting provided consultation services to conduct an industry wide needs assessment and used the data to identify priorities and match them with organizational objectives. Dion consulting worked closely with a management team to share information and build consensus and align organizational priorities. Dion Consulting designed and delivered four web based training modules for a target end user audience of 10,000.

Another client wanted to implement a new employee mentoring program designed to support and retain new staff in their 500+ employee organization in four different locations.

Dion Consulting worked with a management team to identify program objectives, the needed administrative & system supports, the mentor program design, and mentor and protégé training and data collection tools. To date, Dion Consulting has trained approximately 84 mentors and over a hundred protégées.

Clients in a shared industry with multiple locations were interested in increasing employee performance via the redesign of the employee supervision process

Using process driven services, Dion Consulting supported program directors in identifying key supervisors’ skills and in developing a process of supervision that would result in increased employee performance. A training series was identified as the most effective delivery method. Supporting the supervisors’ emerging skills was a critical component of success. Six sequential trainings were designed and delivered to 82 field supervisors. Thirty and sixty day employee competencies were identified. A reflective supervision process and tools were developed, shared and refined based upon the application of instructional concepts between training sessions.

*One client who reported full scale implementation following the training series shared a dramatic reduction in employee turnover as a result of implementing a reflective supervision process.
